Sunset in Boise with smoke from fires.
We're on the road again. We made it to Sioux Falls for the weekend. We had really good visits in Idaho this year: getting to help Di & Rick move into their new home and getting to see Jenn's new gymnastics gym. We got to see a lot of grandkids in Burley, what a blessing they are! In Boise, we had a good visit with siblings and some classmates and got to go to my 45th class reunion. That was really fun! We were in Lewiston for much too short a time, but we had good visits with family and friends. And we even got to spend a weekend in Kamiah with Loriann.

Hwy 12 Kamiah to Missoula.

After a good visit with Loriann, we continued on US12 to Missoula. It's a long, beautiful drive, but very smoky. There was a big fire camp close to the summit where firefighters were dispatched out to a big fire just south of the highway. The rivers are all really low and everything is so dry. We're hoping for a really wet winter this year!

We had about an hour of this really thick smoke!

Filtered sunshine on the Locksa from the smoke.
The Locksa River on Hwy 12. Getting a bit smoky.
We've had a good weekend in Sioux Falls. We got here on Thursday and on Friday we drove 75 miles west to Mitchell. We wanted to see the Corn Palace and we had an order to pick up at Cabela's. The Corn Palace is really neat and the siding on the outside is really made of corn! There are also murals inside that are made of corn. It was definitely worth the visit.
Very weak sunshine AND you can't see the mountains!
I'll try to do better taking pictures and posting this especially when we start our tour!

Just west of Sioux Falls.
