A short stop in Graymont

You see lots of these silos as you drive throught Minnesota. It's a really pretty state.

We dropped down from the plains to the Mississippi River, lots of trees and lots of water everywhere.

Driving along the Mississippi looking toward Wisconsin.

The State Bank of Graymont. This building is located right across the street from Grandma & Grandpa's house. Went in to say hi to Ron and he took us on a tour all over Graymont. What a wonderful afternoon!

This is a sign that hangs in Ron's office and used to hang on the bank so customers would know when the next holiday was going to be. The bank celebrates its 100 year anniversary next year.

The house Mom grew up in that is just across the street from the Coop. The Coop is located in several towns now and not just Graymont.

Had to take a picture of the sign. We were on our way out to the farm. There's not much to see now most of the buildings are gone and there's just a silo left.

The Graymont Coop from the east of town. Speaking of town, I don't think it's grown. Ron says the sign on Hwy 16 used to read "Graymont 1/2". He would explain to people that was not the population of the town.

Behind a grain trailer going into town from the farm. It's getting ready to turn into the Coop and that's the house Mom grew up in from the east.

Remember the activities we used to go to at the Baptist church? Mom said she was Episcopalian when they could get into Pontiac to go to church, when they couldn't, they were Baptist.

Grandma & Grandpa's old house. I got to go inside the house and it's much smaller than I remember, but I did remember the arrangement of rooms! The screened porch on the garage has been walled in and the gal who lives here has a beauty salon in the "sewing room"

This is so my memory of Grandma & Grandpa's house that last year we visited. We slept outside and between the katydids and the grain trucks on the road, I don't think I got any sleep! After our tour, we went into Pontiac and ate dinner at Bernardi's II on Ron's recommendation. It was a great recommendation! Really good food. Being in Graymont made me feel closer to Mom, but I also really missed her too!
