Seward

We got to go to the puffin experience at the Alaska Sealife Center. This gal was great with us and the birds. This is Tufted Puffin.
This is a Rhinoceros Puffin. He was a show off!!
This is a Horned Puffin.
That evening we went out to dinner for Brenda's birthday. (She's in pink.)
We could finally kinda see the mountains this morning!

Alaska Sealife Center

This was taken out Clyde & Stephs' back window. Daisies and fire weed.
Sign with the guys!

Palmer to Seward

Beautiful cloudy day to drive. This is Turnagain Arm.
A train came by while we were watching so I had to take a picture!
More Turnagain Arm.
Clouds with personality.
We camped at the Seward High School last night. A few had an impromptu gathering outside our RV. We had potluck for dinner. There are some really good cooks in our group!

Musk ox, reindeer, elk, etc.

After church today we went to a Musk Ox Farm. They are really cool creatures and it was fun to watch them and the babies.
They aren't very big, but built powerful. They are in the goat family.
Three babies in this picture.
Mom is getting ready to chase the other baby away.
This is an "orka car" we saw at the reindeer farm.
Feeding the reindeer. This is Carl. He took all the food I had then ignored me and went on to the next person with food!
Howard feeding Clyde. He was the biggest reindeer.
We also saw elk. This was my favorite picture.

Valdez to Palmer

View when I opened the front curtain this morning. Wow!
We hadn't gone 10 miles out of Valdez when we spotted this big guy. He was pretty far away, but we could see him really good.
Pipeline along the side of the road. It goes 800 miles from Prudo Bay to Valdez.
Toward Thompson Pass.
Stopped at a viewpoint by a lake and snapped this one. Everything is huge here and really beautiful!
Black spruce in front with more mountains.
Glacier with ice field. Really awesome site!
Lion head Rock.
To the far left is the start of the glacier, the white at the base of the mountain is still the glacial flow!
This is finally the end of the glacier flow.
Narrow, winding road(the white wavy line right, center is where we were going!
King's Peak. We are loving this country!

Valdez

View from the back of our coach.
View out our front window! Tomorrow we head to Palmer. One of our rigs will stop in Anchorage to get their engine repaired while we head to Seward and Homer. So far we've had a trailer lose a wheel when his bearings wore out, the engine with trouble, one of the coaches thought a car was trying to pass when he realized it was his tow vehicle! And lots of chips in windshields. There is security traveling in a group! Someone to get help when needed. Tonight the RV park is hosting a free fish dinner (salmon). Yum!!

Prince William Sound

We went on a 9 hour ride on a catamaran in Prince William Sound yesterday. We saw: Black-legged Kittiwakes (they look a bit like seagulls), Pidgeon Guillemots (they are in the same family as puffins), lots of bald eagles, cormorants, lots of tufted puffins, lots of stellar sea lions, 4 humpback whales, a black bear with her 3 cubs, sea otters (some with their young on their tummies), Dall's porpoise swimming in the boats wake, and harbor seals by the glacier. This is a map of our route.
The water in the sound is from turquoise to deep green. The ripple in the water close to shore is a young humpback whale.
Beautiful waterfalls on our route.
Stellar sea lions playing king of the buoy. The one falling off lost!
More of the green water.
Harbor seals on the ice by Mercer Glacier.
The ride was beautiful!!
Mercer Glacier. We stayed at the base of the glacier for about 45 minutes. We got to see it "calf" several times, it was spectacular.
Sea otter with a baby on its tummy.
Puffin. There were about 20 swimming close to the boat.
Humpback whale just going under again. The first thing you see is the water spout, then it rolls and you see the tail. It's pretty cool.
Sea lion colony. There were hundreds just sunning on the rocks along the shore. They have to get out of the water to rest. We really had a great day. Lots of game to be seen, good food, and good company.
