Still on the road to Laird Hot Springs

Lots of construction!
The buffalo herd.

Whitehorse (We finally have good wifi!)

Black bear right by highway.
Tests River Seevices has the best cinnamon buns! Of course we stopped.
Stone Mountain and lots of trees.
Lots of water up here. Munchies Lake means lots of water.
These Stone Sheep were on the road in front of us. When we stopped they ran across the road and right by my side of the coach.
A bit later we drove by this herd (couldn't get it all in one shot.)
Just before the campground we passed a herd of buffalo.

Dawson Creek Mile 0, Alaska Hwy

Statue to commentate surveyors for the highway. 1,500+ miles built in less than 6 months through some pretty desolate country!
We got a group photo under this sign.
Looks like the prairie, eh?
The actual 0 mile marker downtown. There was a great frozen yogurt place just down the street to the left. We are headed out tomorrow morning. Don't know when we'll have wifi again. Hugs to Karson! Hope you're feeling better! We're thinking about you!!

Wildlife (saw more bear, elk, and mountain sheep while driving, but couldn't get pictures.)

These two were right by the road, but not close enough for one picture.

Junko
Ground squirrel
Cow and calf at our campsite. The calf ran right toward me at one point. A bit too close with mom right there! We watched the calf run around for about 15 minutes.

Ice Fields Parkway & Jasper

On the Athabaska Glacier.

It cleared up some after the snow storm!!

Thought of some family members when we saw this tee shirt.

We are in Dawson Creek

Interesting drive yesterday. Elk on the road leaving Jasper, beautiful scenery, and rain. We had a staging area in Grand Prairie so the Wagon Masters could make sure the bridge wasn't out. Then another as we got into Dawson Creek to determine which road, if any, was open. The main highway through town is under water and bridges are out on 3 routes. We arrived safely AND woke to sunshine!!
